A Game Changer! For Crepey Wrinkled Skin + Unwanted Spots

How does the PicoWay Resolve Treatment Feel?

The Picoway makes a ticking sound as it scans your skin, like a very fast metronome. Most people say "It feels a prickly".A cool compress before can soothe any discomfort prior to or after the treatment. Anesthetics are not required.  

What can I expect afterwards?

Redness or mild discoloration lasts up to 24 hours for normal skin. For ultra sensitive skin a more intense redness may persist for 24 hours. Patches of petechiae will occur on the more delicate skin around the eyes or if a deep line is lasered. Many people experience intermittent itchiness and a mild rash in the first 12 to 48 hours. The petechiae, rash and itchiness last up to five days. This is considered low to no downtime. .

What are the post treatment instructions? 

No make-up is recommended for 24 hours afterwards. Sunscreen is a must, for at least 4 weeks afterwards. Makeup can be worn after the first 24 hours to cover up any mild rash or petechiae. We recommend applying over the counter 1% hydrocortisone daily to manage any symptoms of itchiness that may be accompanied by a rash. Apply moisturizer after 24 hours. Avoid any retinol or acidic preparations until the skin returns to normal.  

Furthermore, we recommend not taking more sun than is required for vitamin d production, as per your physician. Certainly not without your broad spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30, reapplied frequently. Let us not undo the meticulous work of the PicoWay laser and monies you put toward self care.  Our wonderful skin care team can advise on products that work for you. You need to love the texture and feel of your sunscreen, this will keep you compliant with your routine.

What should I do before the treatment? 

No tanning  for a month prior to the treatment. Fillers, Botox and other injectables  are not recommended  for 2 weeks before and two weeks after. This includes Derma Rolling, Micro Needling or any other wave based treatments. Such as light (laser), IPL, BBL, sound, radiofrequency or ultrasound skin treatments. Laser hair removal is ok 1 week before or after providing there is no irritation. Topical products or prescriptions containing retinoids or other compounds that cause irritation should be discontinued 2 weeks before.
