Why do I have so much hair??

Hirsutism and PCOS

Why do I have so much hair?

Are you one of the fortunate people that has full eyelashes and eyebrows? You may also be less fortunate and struggle with unwanted facial hair and thick body hair that grows very quickly.

Could it be Hirsutism (excessive hair growth) and/or PCOS,  PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome?

There can be many reasons why a person has excessive hair. Very often is a genetic tendency. There are instances where a person has many laser hair removal treatments, yet hair still returns. They may get tested by a doctor and there is no medical reason. This phenomenon commonly occurs on areas that are considered ‘hormonal’. The areas that are considered hormonal are facial hair, underarms and bikini area. Other areas are near the elbows and knees. This typically happens to people that had excessive hair.  Only a medical professional can diagnose your condition. Below is some common information about PCOS. Below is a link to website that has much more comprehensive information about excessive hair growth.
